I'm running an iMac g4 PowerPC with the latest update of Tiger. Is there any other way I can manually mount this, or have I been using the sudo mount command incorrectly? I checked the System Profiler and under the USB tab, the drive shows up, but only the Mac formatted partition shows up under volumes. I've done some searching around this forum and a few others, and tried using the sudo mount command in the terminal after creating a directory on my internal, but I just get the message: It also shows up in disk utility but I am unable to mount it from there.

I assumed this was just because it was perhaps not compatible with 10.2, so I just made one partition in Mac OS Extended format so that I could back up all my files before performing an erase and install of Tiger.Īfter getting Tiger installed, I tried using iPartition to make a FAT32 partition so that I can still share photos etc with my Windows using friends. It showed up in disk utility but wouldn't mount from there either. When I first connected it to my computer I was still running Jaguar, and it would not mount. I've already backed up my data, in case I really should have.Recently I purchased a LaCie 500GB external hard drive ( ). I just want the MAC HD's capacity to its maximum. I don't want to create any more partitions, and the BOOTCAMP is already perfect as is, with its intended size and all data still present. So there's still available space in my hardrive, and I want to use that to increase my MAC partition to 193.5 GB. But the MAC partition still hasn't been increased to its maximum size. The size of my BOOTCAMP has been reduced as I intended, so now the maximum size of my MAC partition has been increased as well. User$ diskutil resizeVolume disk0s2 limitsīut the info for my Macintosh HD is still pretty much the same: I just used Camptune, and here is my result: Here is some general information about my Macbook if it would help: Is there a way to increase the maximum size of the MAC partition? Would I be able to make the MAC partition bigger if I reduced the partition with BOOTCAMP? Would I be able to reduce the BOOTCAMP partition if that's needed to increase size of the MAC partition? Volume format does not support resizing (I'm stuck here) User$ diskutil resizeVolume disk0s3 limits User$ diskutil resizeVolume disk0s2 limits (checked without resizing other partitions)
